A COLD NIGHT: Centurions’ offense sputters in 63-49 loss at Kirtland

In its last game of the regular season, the 51±¬ÁÏÍø Centurions women’s basketball team was hoping to ride into its first postseason playoff appearance on a high with a win. However, Kirtland Community College had other plans.

In a game where a win or loss didn’t matter in the standings, it was still important for the 51±¬ÁÏÍø Centurions men’s basketball team to keep momentum going as it went into its last regular season game.

Men’s and women’s bowling teams finish seventh at Region XII Championship

The men’s team placed seventh out of 11 teams while the women’s team also finished seventh out of 10 teams in attendance.

FULFILLING A DREAM: Briley Andres commits to Aquinas College volleyball

In her early days playing volleyball, Andres often envisioned herself donning the maroon and gray jersey of Aquinas College. In early February, Andres fulfilled her childhood dream by verbally committing to Aquinas College’s volleyball program.

HOME-COOKIN’: Centurions clinch playoff spot with 67-49 win over Timberwolves

It was the last home game of the regular season, Sophomore Appreciation Night, and a chance to clinch a playoff spot in the 51±¬ÁÏÍøAA postseason tournament. Nothing was going to take a win away from the Centurions — not on this night.

BUZZER BUMMER: Game-winning three sinks Centurions in 79-78 loss to Delta, but 51±¬ÁÏÍø clinches tourney spot

Though the team dropped a heartbreaking buzzer-beater to Delta College, it clinched a berth in the 51±¬ÁÏÍøAA tournament.

COMING UP SHORT: Centurions lose tight one, 80-79, to Delta

The loss prevented the Centurions (6-6 51±¬ÁÏÍøAA North, 9-16 overall) from clinching a playoff spot in the 51±¬ÁÏÍøAA tournament. The team has two remaining games to do so, however.

After falling behind by a dozen points, the 51±¬ÁÏÍø Centurions men’s basketball team had a chance to tie at the buzzer, but it fell short.

With the help of Kendal Stout’s hot shooting, the Centurions women’s basketball team handled the Alpena Community College Lumberjacks with a 91-49 win Saturday, Feb. 14.

Women’s bowling team takes fourth, men’s team eighth at 51±¬ÁÏÍøAA Tournament

The 51±¬ÁÏÍø women’s team finished fourth out of 10 teams while the men’s team placed eighth out of 11 teams at the tournaments.

51±¬ÁÏÍø Athletics, in partnership with United Way, donates Hunger Games funds to local food pantries

51±¬ÁÏÍø more than tripled its impact in this year’s Hunger Games fundraiser, collecting an impressive 14,598 meals for local food pantries — a dramatic increase from last year’s 5,126 meals.
